Hi all. I was wondering what happens if you go into a user's account and change their signature? Let's say you are a registered member on my UBB. You have a signature with a link back to your website. Keep in mind that your website is not considered distasteful. Let's say it's a website about Pokemon. Now, I go into your signature and delete your link. What can happen? Is this unlawful? Could there be any complications?
Thank you in advance,
Sal

it's your board, you choose the content. apart from pissing the user off, it's not your problem. Just a thought

Personally, I'd at least give the user a chance to remove it of his own volition. Just PM him or post saying "hey d00d, the link in your signature is not allowed, please remove it." Most people will then say "oh, sorry, was not aware that it was not allowed, it's fixed now." And the problem is solved.
If he is resistant, though, then you can go in and remove it - and I think there is a Profile Lock feature, so that once you've removed the offending link, you can make it so he can't add it back in again.

Don't put that signature in your mouth! You don't know where it's been!

Like what cal said - it's yours, you own it. You can put up whatever you want or take down whatever you want.
